Jo has founded a school in Plumfield with her thoughtful husband, Fritz Bhaer.
Among her students are Nan, a tomboy, Stuffy, a candy addict, Nat, a violinist, Demi, a good boy, Dan, a lonely wanderer, and Tommy, Nan’s rival.
They sometimes make mistakes but Jo is a defender of the children at all times.
